10 Reasons To Dump Apple Iphone For An Android Phone

Everyone knows iPhones are classy, beautiful and unique. They are also expensive and specially made for a certain class of consumers. Many iPhone users buy the device because of the class and value, not because they really need it or prefer it to Android phones. However, this might be the time to switch to an operating system that is actually made for every human – Android. Android devices are the most popular and most purchased devices in the market. They are fun to use, and have a host of advantages over their iOS counterparts.

We are not trying to devalue the classy iPhone, we are only telling you Android-powered devices can help you do all the stuffs you want to do on iOS at a fraction of the time, money, and more. Below are some reasons why you should consider switching from an iPhone to an Android device.

1. BATTERY LIFE

iPhone has delivered poorly when it comes to battery capacity. The battery doesn’t last long, and for those who do lots of tasks with their smart hand-held devices, iPhone is not an option. On the other hand, Android devices battery capacity varies from device to device. Presently, there are some batteries that could last you for a whole week when fully charged. No version of Apple’s famed device is close to beating that.

2. CUSTOMIZATION

Android phones can be customized to look exactly like an iPhone; this phenomenon is impossible with an iPhone. There are people who have downloaded an open source application that brings almost all the functions of an iPhone to their Android device. Android can be customized to suit the owner; you can use different applications to change the entire content and look of the phone. You can as well turn the entire Android home screen to the popular Windows 10 interface. This is an amazing feature of Android that can’t be found on an iPhone.

3. MULTITASKING

Yes, an iPhone can multitask definitely, but this can’t be compared to what an Android device does. An Android device can open as many as 50 applications on the spot and at the same time, it would keep all your information on each application intact without freezing or lagging. Do you think iPhones are made for this? Not at all.

4. GAMES AND UTILITY APPLICATIONS

There are thousands of games and utility applications on both Google and Apple stores. However, iPhone are limited to the games and apps found in the store. Android devices on the other hand, are powered in such a way that they can download games and apps on several websites.

5. FILE SHARING

Sharing files from an iPhone to another device is a formal task on its own. At times, it is virtually impossible to send or receive files from a friend. In truth, using an older version of iOS could mean that your device can’t even connect to a newer iPhone. But on an Android, there are multiple apps that you can use for file sharing from your device to any other device. Besides, Bluetooth is always handy.

6. PRICE

An iPhone is extremely expensive compared to an Android device. Android devices have a wide price range, and anyone can find a smartphone that fits his pocket. However, iPhone come at very expensive prices that most iPhone users buy the outdated ones which of course, come at lower prices. With an outdated iPhone, you are getting nothing new because all the features would have become ubiquitous on other devices.

7. COST OF REPAIR

Repairing a smartphone is expensive these days. The reason is most likely that the major issues users have are screen-related, and replacing those screens come at high prices. However, with an iPhone, you just don’t want to have any problem at all. Else, you might be paying to the repairman, the cost of a new Android device. More so, repairmen understand Android phones much more than iPhone which is one of the reasons why repairing Android devices is quite cheaper compared to Apple’s flagship devices.

8. TEXT GETS DELETED AT LOCK SCREEN

One other disadvantage of iPhone over Android is when you are typing and your phone locks, maybe after minutes of not pressing, iPhone is programmed to delete the text and erase it from its memory automatically. Android, on the other hand, keeps such information. In fact, you will still see the text as drafts even if the device is powered off.

9. UPDATES

With iOS, you have to upgrade to the latest OS versions if you want to enjoy your device. However, Android gives users the freedom to upgrade or not while ensuring that users have the leverage to use even the most recent features on older versions.

10. CHOICE

As earlier said, Android is an open platform that is used by lots of manufacturers. This makes the Android market very open as users can choose to buy any smartphone of their choice. You are not limited to a single company as Samsung, HTC, Tecno, Infinix, Sony, Motorola, LG, and more contest for your naira. This is more interesting and gives you the power to choose compared to iPhone. Apple is the sole manufacturer of iPhone, and you are only limited to a particular phone every year or two, with iterations such as iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 Plus.

Conclusion

iPhones are great, but there are Android phones that rival its greatness and even come top at times. Swapping the disadvantages of an iPhone for the benefits of an Android device is a decision you should make, especially if you want a device that gives you optimum battery capacity and possesses all the attributes above.

Have you recently switched from an iPhone to any android phone? Why the move? Let's share our experiences and learn from each other

Wizkid Praises Simi, But Fans See It As A Shade At Davido (Pictures)

This past weekend was a wonderful one for both Wizkid and Davido as they both bagged awards.

Davido, a self-acclaimed local champion, beat Wizkid at an International Award show in London (MTV EMA 2017). On the other hand, Wizkid the International Artiste overshadowed Davido locally at an African Award Show right at home in Lagos (AFRIMA 2017).

This events have led the fans of both Artiste to be at each other's neck as the rivalry between the both of them thickens. Their every move are watched closely and a single social media cough can be mistaken for an assault on the other.

At the AFRIMA 2017 awards where Starboy edged out OBO, Simi emerged Best Songwriter Of The Year. Wizkid took to Twitter to praise her and stating that she writes her own song.

This simple tweet didn't appear as simple as it is as fans took it to be a shade at Davido who many say buys most of his songs, especially the ones that turn out to be hits.

Top 10 celebrity fights in Nigerian Music Industry in 2016

Photo credit: that1960chick.comAs much as 2016 has so far recorded landmark successes in the Nigerian music industry, it has also seen some of the most spiteful clashes for an entertainment sector.
From Wizkid getting featured in Drake’s album to Davido and Tiwa Savage signing multimillion deals with international labels, Sony Music and Roc Nation respectively, 2016 has done pretty well.
Yet, it is also the year that witnessed the intervention of Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, in the conflict between two label bosses, Olamide and Donjazzy.
Fights and arguments between creative minds is a staple in pop culture, and it is not going anywhere.
For some celebrities, the best way to remain relevant in the public eye goes beyond dropping hit songs or granting media interviews, but to bicker, troll, and brawl — on Twitter, on TV, or in person. Beef! That’s what it’s called in pop culture.
While it would be cynical to assume artists were making multiple trips to the buffet in order to maintain visibility, it would be naive to blindly assume otherwise.
So here’s our definitive countdown so far in 2016:
               Olamide vs. Don Jazzy
The epic rivalry between the biggest label giants in the industry, YBNL and Mavin Records is definitely number one on our countdown. Trouble began when Mavin Records artiste, Reekado Banks, was announced winner of the 2016 Headies next rated award. For some reasons, this didn’t go down well with YBNL boss, Olamide. When he came up on stage with his crew, he made some unprintable rants, dropped the microphone on stage and disposed his signature red cup.
Later, Don Jazzy also went up the stage and made his own comments referring directly to Olamide, which prompted the later to declare war on Don Jazzy on Twitter.
It took the timely intervention of billionaire business magnate, Dangote, for both parties to reconcile.
Apart from heralding 2016 Nigerian celebrity fights, the fight was remarkable for obvious reasons. This includes the fact that former President Olusegun Obasanjo also tweeted about the matter. In conclusion, the beef gave rise to the #LEAVETRASHFORLAWMA, hashtag which trended all year round.
tiwa-savage-and-teebillz
Tiwa Savage vs. Tee Billz
Occupying the second position on our list is the dramatic breakup of a power couple, songstress, Tiwa Savage and her manager-turned-beau, Tee Billz.
The juicy details, which were spilled by both parties, will not be forgotten in a hurry. It felt more like watching Jay-Z and Beyonce announce their split on an episode of the now rested, Oprah Winfrey Show. The drama began when Tunji Balogun a.k.a Tee billz, posted some cryptic messages and images targeted at Tiwa on Instagram.
The emotional outburst on Instagram saw the unassuming artiste manager accuse his mother-in-law of witchcraft and his wife, Tiwa, of having an affair with Don Jazzy, Dr Sid, and 2baba. Just as his teeming social media fans were trying to come to terms with it, he was reported to have attempted suicide by jumping off the popular lekki-ikoyi bridge. Tee Billz would later deny the post claiming that his account was hacked.
The tables however turned the following day, when Tiwa speaking in an exclusive video interview released by Pulse, addressed Tee Billz’s accusations.
If you thought Tee Billz washed their dirty linings outside, Tiwa actually spread it out in the market square. In a shocking revelation, she accused Tee billz of cocaine abuse, physical and mental abuse and defrauding and piling up huge debts after which she called off the marriage.
As expected, the faceoff drew mixed reactions from fans. While some took sides with Mavins’ first lady, Tee Billz on the other hand garnered sympathy from people.
okoye-brothers-1P-Square Family Feud
One of Nigeria’s biggest music exports, Peter and Paul Okoye aka PSquare reignited their lingering family feud early in the year.
Drama started when Peter, who is the most outspoken of the duo, called out his elder brother and manager Jude, on Twitter over alleged poor managerial skills, especially in the last four years. After a series of tweets and altercations, Peter fired Jude on Twitter. However, this decision didn’t go down too well with Paul who had obviously taken sides with Jude and this led to the temporary breakup of the duo.
Peter took on a new identity as MR. P and released his solo titled ‘Look into my eyes’ under the imprint of his new label, P-CLASSIC. Similarly, Paul, who by now preferred to be called ‘Rudeboy’ followed suit by debuting his single titled, ‘Call heaven’. In his song, the father-of-one lamented the death of their parents and how it had affected the unity of PSquare.
Quite recently, the twin brothers took to their various social media accounts to announce their comeback and their fans heaved a sigh of relief.

               Linda Ikeji vs. Wizkid
The spat between popular blogger Linda Ikeji and Popstar, Wizkid started after the former posted a story that implied that Wizkid had been served a quit notice from his Lekki home. Contrary to popular opinion, Linda alleged that the home in question was indeed a rented apartment.
An angry Wizkid had descended on Linda on social media, threatening to send his 16-year-old cousin to beat her up. This culminated in Linda reporting the case to the police.
Meanwhile, after the issue was resolved, the blogger justified her reasons for reporting Wizkid to the police in a lengthy post on her blog.
The accused, Wizkid had to tender a written and oral apology to Linda because of the violent utterances he made on social media.

Davido vs. Babymama and Dele Momodu
What was originally intended to be a closed-door dispute between superstar Davido and his baby mama; Sophia Momodu over the custody of their daughter, Imade, found its way to social media.
It was revealed that Sophia accused Davido’s family of child trafficking having allegedly separated her from her child.
Responding to the claims, Davido accused his Sophia of smoking ‘cannabis’ and had passed it on to their child. He added that his dad and stepsister were taking the baby to Dubai before they were stopped by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons.
After a series of Twitter exchanges between the Momodus and the Adelekes, Davido took the fight to the next level by addressing the issue when he was featured in Humblesmith’s Osinachi remixes.
In the track, the fun-loving artiste chorused, ‘Dele na my boy Dele na my boy.’

Wizkid vs. Dammy Krane
Dammy Krane and Wizkid seemed all cool until the former took to his Twitter page to announce that the latter had stolen his intellectual property.
It climaxed when both stars ran into each other at Quilox Nite Club and Wizkid who hasn’t said a word to Dammy Krane on social media reportedly smashed a bottle on his head.
Things would’ve escalated but for the timely intervention of the owner of the club. Both celebrities were later spotted at Obafemi Martins’ house where he reportedly settled their beef.

Ice Prince vs. Girlfriend’s Sugar Daddy and Twitter fans
Ice Prince and his girlfriend, Maimah Nkewa were the butt of jokes on social media when allegations with photo proof surfaced on the internet that, Maimah was seeing an older lover.
The reports claimed that the sugar daddy had in fact footed her bills bills and sponsored her education.
Ice Prince debunked such claims until more photos surfaced online and it became clear that she was indeed involved with Akin, the sugar daddy in question.
It was later revealed that Maima dumped Akin years after he began sponsoring her education and l lifestyle after she met with Ice Prince. This didn’t seem to go well with Akin who wanted his ‘investment’ back and he shared more photos of them together.
Still standing by his woman, Ice prince dropped a new song titled “no mind dem” in support of his woman.

Skales vs. Baseline Music
In 2014, Music artiste, Skales got signed on with Baseline Music. The crisis between Skales and Baseline Records which began about a year ago, assumed a new dimension some months ago when Skales and his manager, Osagie Osarenkhoe, were accused of allegedly defrauding the label. Baseline Entertainment has absolved both parties of all forms of fraud. The Ijo Ayo singer has gotten into a new management deal with Upfront and Personal under the aegis of Paul Okoye. Skales recently addressed the controversy in a track titled “No body’s business”.

Runtown vs. Eric Many Records
The messy fight between Nigerian pop star, Runtown  and his erstwhile label ‘Eric Many‘ owned by Okwudili Umenyiora is rather interesting. According to Runtown, trouble began when he wanted to terminate his contract and also refused to renew a two-year contract. He said the decision arose because the CEO of the record label, Umenyiora, had threatened him with a gun. Both parties are said to have settled their differences.
A new deal which was spelt out by the parties involved, will see Runtown spend one more year in EricMany Entertainment, but with greater control over his work, his remuneration, and finances.

Blackface Naija vs. Wizkid
Dancehall act and member of the defunct boy band, Plantashun Boiz, Blackface Naija, accused Wizkid of intellectual theft on Twitter. The controversial singer alleged that Ojuelegba, which is one of Wizkid’s biggest hits, was actually his signature sound. Blackface accused Wizkid off passing Ojuelegba, as his intellectual property. It is however interesting to note that Wizkid has yet to respond to Black Face’s claims and this is not a good sign either, you can ask Dammy Krane.
